Transport and Work Aid Mr. BoxX, Plaston AG, 2006

Developed by professionals for professionals, the Mr. BoxX system meets the efficiency requirements placed for an optimal work aid. The bins offer plenty of space for organization and can be flexibly stacked together and stored. As a result, the bins can be separated with a single action, and can be clicked together again and be transported safely.

Herbert Pauser moderated innovation and technical workshops, which led to this novelty.

In the course of several rounds of discussion various containers were investigated as potential products.

Subsequent workshops provided an opportunity for coming up with ideas before putting these into concrete form and then implementing them.

Innovation process for "Wing", the Lufthansa Economy Class on-board tableware, Lufthansa Catering Logistics, 2001

In developing the "Wing" on-board tableware for Lufthansa we assumed responsibility for the entire project management. This involved project planning, coordination with the relevant Lufthansa departments, conducting workshops, preparing presentations to the Board of Management, selecting suppliers, and quality assurance on introduction of the on-board tableware. This occurred, as planned, to coincide with a new Lufthansa timetable.

An extensive user analysis of the topic of "replacing packaging" focusing on criteria such as users, economy and ecology were the basis of the world-wide patented "Systainer" case system.

Study projects, Zurich Academy of Art and Design, Zurich, since 2001

Since 2001 Herbert Pauser has been leading various seminars at the Zurich Academy of Art and Design. They involve various methods for coming up with new ideas (such as brainstorming, brainwriting, Method 635, sequential solutions, the Osborn check list, mindmapping, thinking caps, thought chairs and morphological boxes), evaluation methods (such as comparison of couples, constant sum processes, semantic differential, polar coordinate portrayal) as well as methods of process planning (structure, timeline and schedule).

Innovation process for date display on Memo water filter, BRITA Wasser-Filter Systeme, 2002

At a creative meeting we produced various ideas for the development of a simple mechanical date display for a water filter and applied various methods to evaluate them. This approach resulted in a simple solution that until then the company had not thought of.

Innovation process for tableware for the Lufthansa Business Class, Lufthansa Catering Logistics, 2001

At a creative meeting with various Lufthansa departments various methods involving the use of buzzwords laid the foundations for a whole host of ideas with regard to the future development of Business Class tableware. In the weeks that followed the individual departments came up with revolutionary ideas for the development studio, changing previously unalterable fundamental positions.

New products for the building sector, Schöck Bauteile GmbH, 2004

Two workshops, each lasting for several days, provided an opportunity to discuss the introduction of a new product with external experts.

At the first the potential and new detailed ideas were examined.

The second was used to work on the basic technical construction of the product and the formulation of an action plan.
