Marc Namur, bluequest Product Engineering GmbH

"PocketStar" hexagon key holder, Wiha Tools, 1999

In the construction phase we optimized PocketStar and its component parts in all design aspects. It was particularly important to test how the striking opening mechanism and the ensuing trajectory of the keys actually functioned, as well as the material that we planned to use.

Project management: Herbert Pauser, ahape GmbH

Deco knife, MOZART AG, 2007

The development of the deco knife is an innovative idea that uniquely combines the die-cast metal with a plastic coating.

The deco knife has a comfortable partly soft plastic coating that that shows a high-quality appearance. The pleasing ergonomic offers fatigue-free operations coupled with a safe and secure change of blades.

Fin-box rail system for surfboards, Fanatic Sports, 1991

In the development of this 4th generation fin-box rail system for surfboards particular importance was placed on an easy-to-use fins. This includes integrated slide systems and, depending on the type of board, a dual axle rail system. The patented rail system has an intelligent, movable fulcrum to make handling easy: when beginning to unfold it has an energy-saving leverage, at the end a swift, high leverage.

Project management: Marc Namur, bluequest Product Engineering GmbH

MiniSystainer and MaxiSystainer, Festool Festo Tooltechnik, 2001

In addition to the design work we also conducted the pre-construction of the new cases. The material, surfaces, dimensions and construction features of the existing Systainer were transferred to the Maxi- and MiniSystainer. Stability and functionality were assessed on the basis of prototypes and stereo lithography templates.

Project management: Herbert Pauser, ahape GmbH

Interface for Wafertest Docking Station 2000, Agilent Technologies Deutschland GmbH, 2000

Development of a docking station for testing wafer samples in the computer industry. When the docking station is opened, various linear and rotary movements are conducted to guarantee optimum insertion and extraction of the test unit.

Functional parts in the Maybach limousine, Fischer Automotive Systems/Seeber/Daimler Chrysler, 2001

A combined drinks holder for the interior of the Maybach limousine was developed for Firma Fischer Automotive Systems. A choice of receptacle to hold two beakers or two champagne flutes and a bottle of champagne can be extracted. The champagne flutes are easy to remove, but remain clicked in their position when the car brakes. For Seeber we developed the kinematics for the flaps and the glove box in the back of the car. We produced the prototypes for these ourselves.

Project management: Michael Schmidt, SIC

DVD cover, Atu Forma, 2000

Design and construction of a protective cover for DVDs with a new mounting head for improved-handling. The generous, raised pressure point ensures that the DVD assumes a comfortable position for removal purposes.

Project management: Marc Namur, bluequest Product Engineering GmbH

Masthead "Pro" for Surfboards, Fanatic Sports, 1992

By means of the logical advancement of a 6th generation windsurf masthead there emerged a patented fast-attachment masthead with shock absorbing torsion bars. The adjustment unit for the mast is integrated in an ergonomically improved, large-surface clamping lever. To improve handling, the grip space was extended to the beam.

Project management: Marc Namur, bluequest Product Engineering GmbH

"Excenter" suspension for MTBs, Bike Aktion GmbH, 1995

Construction of a suspension set for the back wheel of a full-suspension mountain bike. The Excenter set with the wedge compression enables a stiffer frame as well as wheel distance and height of the crankshaft to be adjusted to suit the individual rider.

Project management: Marc Namur, bluequest Product Engineering GmbH

"ArtPro" mast base system for surfboards, Fanatic Sports, 1994

Development of an adjustable mast base system for securing the rig on surfboards. For the first time ever the ergonomics were improved considerably by the use of an integrated 4-fold pulley system. A so-called quick release makes it easy for users to remove the rig from the surfboard. Particular importance was placed on making it resistant to dirt. The large grip enables simple adjustment and distributes the high loads during use equally over the board.

Project management: Marc Namur, bluequest Product Engineering GmbH

"Switchmaster" signal box to show valve positions, bar GmbH, 1997

We developed a new system to identify the exact valve position. You can see the switched armature position from far away and from all sides very well. Also switching positions of three-way armatures can be indicated. With only one bottom part (left, right, inside and outside) the signal box can be adapted to all standardized pinion projections (vertical adjustment) and mounting dimensions.

Cutlery for the Lufthansa Economy Class, Lufthansa Catering Logistik, 2001

Minimal weight and maximum sturdiness were important in the construction of all cutlery pieces. In order to achieve this, precise highly detailed work with regard to thickness, radius and handle design was required. Using stereo lithography templates it was possible to test stability, sturdiness and ergonomics.

Project management: Mark Namur, bluequest Product Engineering

Foldbox, Walther Faltsysteme, 1997

Development of a foldbox for industrial usage, which should be simple to build up and fold again. The purpose should include the trend of door-to-door transports. Basis for the construction were the experiences with the existing foldbox generation with the size of 600 x 400 mm.
